    100% agreed.

I'd never condone the death penalty, anyway.

I think the all idea is to put some behind bars just so the US goverment doesn't seems complety useless and to have some people that actually pay for the event... to make the public happy or some crap like that...

Yep... my theory... also it might be wrong... is that the gov is behind it or at least knew about it, but they needed to go to war... unfortunatly their citizens were not really sticking together and had no reason to want war... give them some big events like 9/11 and the all country is bring back together... ready to agree or at least say nothing about Bush when i went to war...

I'm actually surprised the courts didn't succumb to the popular hysteria. Even if the bloke is a scumbag it is good news for the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary in the US that he was not given the death sentence.

It is bad enough that he was ruled to be eligible for it in the first place. It now seems that you don't even need to kill anyone to get the capital punishment...

And as for 'closure' or 'justice', his death would have served neither.

The right to remain silent obviously isn't a right anymore.

I don't hear me talking. Do you? Ehhhh...?

Maybe I never speak at all. Maybe I only post. Eeeh?

Besides... I only remain silent when it is in my benefit... and you can't MAKE me talk, it is my right.

    Well, not anymore. :(

No... you need to. You know I am right, you know you should.

They're all out to get you. They're out to get us all, and I'll only stop once they're all dead.

Do it. You know you want to. ;)

As far as I can see. He's done nothing to merit the death penalty.

He actively wanted the death penalty - if you want to punish him then that was definitely not the way to do it.

One interesting thing about the trial was that the man they claim planned the 11th September attacks is in US hands, he's just in an off shore prison somewhere, yet his testimony was allowed in court. Surely he would be a better person to put on trial?

He should have been put inside a building that was about to be fire-bombed and demolished, a touch of Islamic justice.

Fact, Moussaoui won the trial. Read this for the best post-trial analysis of what happened, even though it was written 2 weeks ago. http://www.exile.ru/2006-April-21/war_nerd.html I bet the Jihadists are burning the CDs now, highlighting the best parts.

Maybe him not being put to death was the right decision, I don't know. Had it gone the other way, however, I would have shed no tears.
