Attitudes and the influence of porn

While on one hand, I think it's underlying purpose may be to bemoan the modern age, I thought this was a really interesting article, particularly regarding young people's exposure to porn. I'm not anti-porn, btw, quite the contrary, but I don't really get much from the mainstream of the 'conventional' shoot, especially with the increasing 'ATM' popularity.

I saw that in last saturdays Guardian.
Its a really good article and pretty much summed up a lot of the things which piss me off with British society. Mind you, on one hand it pisses me off and then theres certain aspects of it i embrace, but its good to have an artical so can at least see where the behavipour is coming from and how relatively new these attitudes are.

Faux lesbianism pisses me off no end. Interesting how most who had tried it had not actually done it in private.

Interesting that they chose to interview middle class A level students from the Cotswolds for their female youth interviewees, and 19-21 year old guys from east London...... Bit of a wonky set of groups to take as examples, isn't it?

"We did more exciting stuff years ago," she reflects, "but you feel too emotionally close after a while. It feels like an intrusion to do anything weird - we're so close, it would feel inappropriate to do anything kinky. Really, really embarrassing. To risk stuff like that, you need that slight separation from them that you have in the early stages when you're not so intimate."

God, that article is really good. Thank you for posting a link :)
