I was involved in an RTA and was contacted by my solicitors to make a claim for compensation.
How long does it usually take for money to exchange hands?

good luck xx
Our solicitors contacted me and my sister to confirm our injuries today, so the ball's definitely rolling for the PI claims.
Just wondering whether we're looking at weeks, months or years for an outcome...

Were you very injured?
i dont think i'd bother with one unless i was really injured.
I was in a RTA this time last year, i started the claim process straight away and a year later money hasnt changed hands.
It depends on the extent of injurys, im still having tests and stuff so mine cant go through until they know long term effects for sure
really? that must be an english thing, its still RTA up here!

Anyway my boss was hit by a car and it took over a year for him to get his money, and that was a real injury not like some of the fake ones that people come up with. Then again when we were in a car accident many years ago it only took a few months. I guess more people claim these days.
If there is a criminal investigation into the collision then there can be no civil litigation proceedings until that is completed and discharged. If it's a serious investigation meriting Crown Court action this could take a year or so; if it isn't so serious it could still take six months.
