Come on Politics... it trully is all a load of rubbish. Most of what is told will be done never is or we don't see any difference whatsoever. Be communist at least the system works. democracy is a whole load of tree huggin' hippy crap.

    reeeet, and that would explain the downfall of the soviet union? the liberalisation of communism in china in order to adapt to the real world. various failed social experiments around the world, extreme human suffering, violent dictatorships, removal of all/most civil liberties etc etc etc.

    welcome to the politics board. ur opinion and experiences are very much welcome, but at least be intelligent about them.

    Turtle, I believe there will be wars as long as old men can convice young men to fight them.
    Except for self defense there is no reason for it!
    As for Tony, you must admit he is rather tiresome at this point. Remember that politicians are like childrens diapers. They are all dirty and should be replaced often!

    China and Soviet Union aren't Communist States, they are systems of State Capitalism that are pretending to be communist. And dooing a bloody bad job too.

    Theres never been a 'true' communist state and nobody has ever given proper socialism a real try etc etc blah blah blah.

    Both the USSR and China started off as true commie states..Right out of the pages of Marx and Engel..

    The thing is that when communism meets human nature it turns to shit. People are greedy and power hungry by nature and thats why communism can never work.

    I would argue that China and the former USSR are the real 'true' communist states..That is how ALL communist states turn out in the end.

    Of course denying communism has ever been tried allows people to keep their heads in the sand and keep the dream alive.

    Maybe I should add that I don't think Communism would work for precisly the reasons you said. But I felt the need to point out the whole USSR/China thing.

    Its interesting to note that some members of the former USSR are now the most corrupt places on earth. Sod communisn, give me a nice safe monarchy any day.

    You're damn right we need a rational code of morality and ethics. But not much progress can be made in that direction while we've still got a majority ranting about gods, devils, souls, and absolute morality, and using an ancient book written by ignorant nomads as a guide.
