I found this article about the islamic veil rather enlightening and interesting...so I'm sharing...usually I'm on a rant but theis is just for information and make up your own mind.

    Having seen some of their women I have concluded that the birqua is a GREAT idea...maybe years before its time...all we in US have is a joke about puting a 'bag' over some ladies heads but it would offend if I went further with the comment.

    Suffice to say, some islamics do have good ideas for islamics.

    That is by far one of the most ethnocentric views I've heard in quite a while Diesel. I happen to have met quite a few gorgeous Islamic women.
    I do realize that you meant your comment in a joking manner but it undermines the whole point of the article that you posted. While the article points out very valid cultural reasons for the veiling, you come back with comments about how it's better to hide them because they're ugly. It's comments like this that are just going to get the feminists up in arms.

    Unless we get the femanist up in arms we won't have anything to talk about...double entandre intended.

    (I only lied a little bit...truth be known I have seen some beautiful islamic women too...but what do you do with such a woman? Female circumcision makes them 'less' than interesting!)

    NOW, about thetin the ladies armed...of course it's a beating if the arm shows through the birqua!

    Do you really mean Islamic women Diesel, or do you mean arab/afghani women? Some of those eastern european muslim women aint so bad <IMG alt="image" SRC="wink.gif" border="0">

    I confess, I find all women beautiful...for some though the birqua is truly a 'beauty enhanser.'
