Can you remember any sweets, chocolate bars etc which have had a name change and which do you prefer?

I still call them Opal fruits!

    a lot of them they changed because the UK versions had a different name to elsewhere in the world and the confectionery giants wanted to save money on advertising and packaging.

    it saddens me :(

    Opal Fruits is the only one I can think of.

    I know it's not sweets but I remember when Cif was Jif.

    they tried to change coco pops to choco krispys or some shit

    at least it was a failure :)

    I know its not sweets, but i was so glad when the changed coco krispies back to coco pops, and im not too impressed with changing Jif to Cif coz the Spanish couldn't pronounce it!

    i had to bring this thread back to rant about sports mixture sweeties! i used to buy a bag and eat just the black ones (liquorice) they were sooo yummy :yum::yum: and now they've been replaced with blackcurrant! its an outrage! :sour:

    opal fruits and marathons are the only ones im old enough to remember.
    I always call starburst Opal fruits, but Im used to marathons being snickers now, but i think they changed that quite a bit earlier/

    Yeah- I still remember the advert when they changed em to 'Star Burst' some annoying monkey.

    I was most put out by the name change. :mad:

    I remember that. I phoned up and voted coco pops.

    They got rid of Wispas, morphed them and made them into Dairy Milk bubbles.
    Wispa mints were the shiz!

    i know ,and bubbly's DO NOT taste as good as wispas :impissed:
