Reet, I know there is a GUM clinic sticky, but it doesn't answer my question and I've done a search and can't find an answer either!

Basically, I want to go and get tested, but I am due on my period. Can you get tested when you are on your period?

I don't really want to wait to go to the clinic, plus I will be going home from uni and the clinic for me at home is miles away, so I would rather go this week.

So, does being on my period matter?

    I think it does.... they say in magazines that you shouldn't go for smear tests when you're on your period.. and part of the STI tests (i think) is taking a swab from the cervix

    Anyways, to get accurate results, you will probably be advised to make an appointment after you finish your period.
