Symptoms: itchy, creamy white discharge, discomfort

Develops: after antibiotics or just one of those things

    Not sexually transmitted

Get rid of with Canesten (following diagnosis by doctor) from GP or chemist.

They don't say anything really about treating it, but go to anywhere where they sell medication like things, here at least its usually in the condom/pregnancy testing aisle. Theres one day, three day, seven day what not meds for it, usually just a cream or pill you put up there. Aka. Monastat is a very common one.

2% Clotrimazole cream (Caneston) will help sooth external discomfort but wont treat it. You can buy it OTC at a pharmacy.
They wont sell you anything to treat it though, such as an oral capsule/pessary/internal cream unless,as Kentish said, youve had a previous diagnosis off your doctor.

The pharmacist asks if you've had thrush diagnosed before by a doctor, so presumably to check that you know what you've got. They often ask you if you've had it in the last 3 months, because if you have then it might be an indication of something else wrong. Having said that, i bought a tablet for thrush a couple of days ago (bloody antibiotics  ) and they didn't ask me. Hmmm.

Well either way, if you've not had a previous diagnosis they shouldnt have sold it.
