Well first make sure you have a DVD writer. If you have, what exactly are you trying to do?

    Hey,

Just make sure that if you do have a dvdrw drive in the laptop, that its a "-" aka "minus" drive.

Nope. In that case it would be called a DVD-RW drive. Yours should burn CDs, but can only play DVDs.

    You've got one what?

The key word here is COMBO

I've got about 4 different combo drives and the word combo has always meant writes CDR's and read's DVD's but cannot write to them - DVD-Writers always write to both formats and one of my drives even can get 1.4gb on a 700 CD by burning the pits in the CD-R closer together but you need the same kind of drive to read it back again.

The picture seems to quote that you have a CD-RW/DVD drive in a combo. Just because you have a DVD drive it doesnt mean that you have a DVD-RW drive. The DVD drive will play DVDs but to write to them you will need a DVD-RW drive.
