When i rub the messenger troubleshooter, it has crosses beside "DNS" and "Key Ports"

I click repair but apparantly MSN cant repair it

Have tried restarting the router, modem and my laptop then trying again but still no joy

We all on NTL, by chance? I've been having problems with them this evening - mostly HTTP requests, but MSN has been patchy as well...

go to start, and click on run

in the box type "cmd" and hit enter, which brings a black box up

make sure you dont have msn running

in the black box you need to enter "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter

close the black window, and then reopen msn messenger

Don't you just press CTRL, ALT and DELETE about 10 times in a row?

Excellent! You mean that after the last half-decade of using open-source products full time, they're still not mature enough to have simple things like 'start' buttons?

Damnit, I'm off to find a proper operating system! I've been waiting years for them to implement those nice blue screens with white writing on them...

Just kidding ;). And I'll stop taking this thread off-topic now...

woo linux users are we? we do have start buttons, kinda. Depends on the WM, on KDE its jsut the first panel button. Often called the K button, on fluxbox blackbox and enlightenment, it your right click button :thumb: IceWM its in IceWM button in the lower left and im not sure about GNome but i think its simaler to kde.

Does the K button put you in the K-hole?? :D

I don't use linux. I use windows with a skin to make it look like a mac... ;)

Gnome either has a single menu like KDE does, or it's divided in more than one, which are different depending on the version. In 2.12 there's "Applications", "Places" and "System".

FreeBSD generally, and I was being pedantic about the start button ;).

I've had to install Linux because my new sound card isn't supported by FreeBSD yet. I'm gutted :(. Am finding Kubuntu very nice though :).
