viagra, women and the pill...?

Ok I was round my boyfriend's last night, and his mate's just got some viagra (from Thailand I think) and my boyfriend wanted to try it out just for fun. And then he said I should try some, cos it makes girls more horny too. In the end, I didn't, because I didn't know if a) that was bullshit, or b) if it would have an effect on the pill that I'm taking.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is it dangerous for girls to try viagra? And does it interfere with the pill??


After a heated debate last night I'm curious to know!!

    ok ive googled this and there seem to be conflicting reports, it appears that as viagra is a drug prescribed for men there has not been such in depth testing on women, therefore the side affects for a woman taking it are pretty unknown. one website states that viagra does not increase libido and does not increase the sensations of an orgasm. if you google 'viagra affect on woman' you will get the same results i did.

    I'd have thought if it had a worthwhile effects it wouldn't just be marketed at guys, and there wouldn't be various forms of "female viagra". Not sure on the side effects/pill thing though.

    The most important thing to note is its quite likely not to be viagra at all, buying legit drugs like that in Thailand is a rarity. It could be a copy, a dud or have another drug altogether in it.

    As for females using it, I dont suspect its hugely dangerous, as long as you dont have high blood pressure or other heart problems. Oh and never mix it with other drugs especially stimulants.

    Is this true? My boyfriend takes it occasionally, and it's usually when hes had quite a bit of coke/ecstacy. I'm not sure of how viagra works exactly so never really questioned it.

    Very true I'm afraid, not only is there issues around the heart rate and blood pressure but there is also the potential for gangreen.

    As in the viagra will make it 'up' but the stimulants wont let it down, which can mean (worst case) blood poisoning or even loosing it.

    Considering the potential side effects, it's dangerous to take this medication without having been prescribed it in the first place. It's even more dangerous to have purchased it from abroad without the certainty that the pill is exactly what it says it is...

    I saw an article a while back which said that 'viagra' was killing more tourists than all the other drugs put together, too many business men there wanting a bit too much fun.
