Kat's Kookery Klass

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
It was a dark, rainy afternoon as Kat decided to steal a private hour to herself, she approached the cupboards with intent to making herself a nice jacket spud, but alas! There were no jacket spuds... in fact, there wasn't an awful lot at all...

she found amongst the dark cobweb ridden emptyness, a tin of heinz baked beans (thats odd - I never buy heinz  ) and a couple of lonely carrots... where up in the freezer lay a lonely bag of quorn pieces.

So, into the frying pan the quorn went (she was very hungry and apart from having no money, she had no time to go shopping), adding a little salt and pepper for flavour.

She chopped up the carrots and added them too, followed by some left over fajita seasoning, she opened the can of (expensive) heinz beans with her newly fixed-broken-arm/hand, and although expecting it to be absolutely as foul and random as it looked, it was actually reasonably pleasing, and kat's a culinary genius so that's saying something.

Try it - :yum:

any other random cupboard recipes invented through the use of a lack of food?

It doesn't really taste of much, it's just a base for putting stuff on. Quorn are kidding themselves if they think it tastes good on it's own!

Yah. Have you tried quorn 'meat'balls? (the oxymoron gets me everytime!) Put them in a chicken tonight Spanish Chicken sauce with some veg and stuff, and then eat it with rice or pasta? It's really good.

Fry some bacon and strips of steak in BBQ sauce. Layer up the bacon/steak in a bacquette with cheese and onion. Stick the lot under the grill till the cheese melts through it.

    Fuc. King. Lush.
