    wilkinsons, any fabric shop, most newsagents will have a little bit where they sell knicknaks like combs, safety pins, needles and threads, buttons etc.

    I've never gone that far but I have found having over two foot long hair extensions usefull in the past, for a bit of thread that is.

    wilkos, supermarket, John lewis (which you have in kingston) but might be a bit expensive.
