    wilkinsons, any fabric shop, most newsagents will have a little bit where they sell knicknaks like combs, safety pins, needles and threads, buttons etc.

    if youre stuck, you could make a needle yourself out of the bone of any old whale you happen to have lying around, and then make your own thread from finely spun cat gut.

    I've never gone that far but I have found having over two foot long hair extensions usefull in the past, for a bit of thread that is.

    wilkos, supermarket, John lewis (which you have in kingston) but might be a bit expensive.
