    im just sobering up from last nights Superbowl Party in manchester, was a good night, drank way too much, ended up getting in bed at 6am this morning :(

    They had this commercial that explained it all. Football is the American sport, no matter what team you support, its the one thing we all have in common. It was quite a touching commercial. Had this little girl with a sign that said "anybody but dallas" a bunch of bikers with a guy at the end all in leather with a browns (i think) hat on. A guy with a 4 jersey on with a sign that said "one more year"

    Its something you'll never understand.

    Its the soccer of america. (or whatever sport it is thats over there, criket or something)

    Just becasue this board is filled with brits shouldn't mean that any time an american football thread is made everybody should go, oh football, gay boo, pads and all that. Its quite pathetic really. Each to their own and Football is some of ours.

    Football is very close to me. My dad played all his life, played for the giants, my brother has played all his life, paid his way thru college, went to a game every friday and every saturday for over a decade. watched it every sunday and being half cheesehead, that means i was hardcore packer fan. I just think its lame, the dozens of sports threads that everybody is into, the few of us dont go there and express what a boring game in my opinion it is, so why does everybody do it to this? Can't they just be that much less sad (probably not, considering the people) and just ignore it?

    A lot of Brits are into American football believe it or not. And even if they don't, lots of people stil get involved in watching the superbowl 'cos it's just a fun event! :yes:
