Go on then, you're organising another Live 8, and you can pick any 10 current bands to play. They've got to be artists that are still touring (no Pink Floyd, Stone Roses, Smiths etc, and no Take That with Robbie Williams).
Here's mine:
Muse for an explosive start
Royksopp
Massive Attack
U2
R.E.M.
Bob Dylan
Kanye West
The Arcade Fire
Anthony and the Johnsons
Radiohead
It goes without saying that they'd all play my favourite songs, and any guest singers etc would be present.
Go on then, if you could put the perfect gig together, what would it be?

Callisto
Twin Zero
In Flames
Borknagar
Meshuggah
Arch Enemy
That would start off(from the bottom) with my heavier tastes in music and then calm down a bit at Twin Zero, get slightly heavier again with Callisto, and then an instrumental bit with Pelican and Red Sparowes. Jesu would be quite chilled out, and for the finish Isis would start off with 'So did we' from Panopticon.
Damn I've thought about this too much...
John Legend
Stereophonics
Nickelback
REM
Artic Monkeys
Def Leppard
Coldplay
Bon Jovi
Rolling Stones
Marilyn Manson
Soulfly
Anthrax
Papa Roach
Slipknot
Cannibal Corpse
Les Béruriers Noirs
VNV Nation
AC/DC
Skinny Puppy
Ocean Colour Scene - Wanted to see them since I was about 7! Keep missing them everytime they play Glasgow.
Tracy Chapman
NIN
Rammstein
Goldfinger
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
The last 5 were the 5 best gigs I have ever been to...amazing!
I'm a big fan of their sauces I must admit.
Led Zeppelin
The Smiths
Oasis
Metallica
Tom Waits
Suzanne Vega
Black Sabbath
I would, of course, have Robert Plant though. And he would, of course, play lots of Zep songs. Maybe a reunion of Plant & Page...
But yeh, along with that would go:
Snow Patrol
Athlete
Panic! At the Disco
Green Day
The Killers
Foo Fighters
Fuck knows who else. That was hard, man. It worries me that all the bands I like are so old that at least one member is dead .
Yep... me too and I love their live
Will edit it
Whoops. Didn't read that bit.
It renders all but Megadeth, Primus, AC/DC and Maiden null and void off my list then.
