How do you add a picture to your signature?

Do I need to be hosting some geeky website thing to do this from? I'm thinking it's far too much effort if this is the case...

I want to add one of these images - or at least, something something along these lines...

    you can add the links to a picture in your sig, but you cant have a picture actually shown in your signature

    Images in sigs arent allowed, mods need to switch them on.

    pictures in sigs are na. pictures by your name... all you have to do is read to find out how.

    I'm glad we can't have pictures in our signatures, having an avatar is enough I think, it's a message board not a photo album

    yeah pics in sigs aren't needed, it would just make everything take longer to load.

    I agree, pics in sigs would be really distracting. We already have a generous Av size limit, we don't need more than that. Smilies in sigs are ok, but not too many!
