I thought that if a customer spots that they have to sell it at the lower price advertised. Do you remember when they lowered the price on some wine which then made a multisave deal more expensive than buying the bottles singly?

they don't have to, but massive companies like tesco almost always do, cause they can afford to and it keeps the customers happy :)

I complained to the manager and he was like read the sign, it says £1.49 so thats the price. It's half price because it's half of one pound off which makes it £1.49. I didn't even want the blueberries. I was merely pointing it out.

no retailer is obliged to sell anything to anyone at any price, it's just that if something is accidentally given the wrong price people tend to bleat on about trading standards and how it's their right to have it at the marked price (it isn't), so it's just easier all round if the company can afford to, to just let them have it.

a retailer could refuse to sell somebody something because they didn't like their shoes and still be within their rights. and how i wish sometimes i worked in a shop just so i could do that :chin: :D

not sure what short change is, but they'd be wrong.
if something is wrongly marked with a lower price, you can’t insist on buying it at that price. The law says that a retailer can refuse to sell anything to you, at any price, without giving a reason. But if a retailer sells you something at too low a price by mistake, they can’t later make you pay the extra, unless they can show you knew the price was wrong.

When I worked at B&Q, someone came up to the till and plonked some object down, then almost had a heart attack when I told them the price. When asked what it said on the shelf they said "well, you never look at the price, do you?".
Morons. Even the some of the fucking labourers weren't as dumb as that.
