Double http leads to microsoft -why??

If you enter a url with the http:// part twice, it will take you to www.microsoft.com, no matter what the url is. Try with this one, for example: http://http://www.yahoo.com/

You might think it's because you're using windows, but I'm not and I get the same. So, why?

When you type something in firefox (not sure about ie) if it is not a valid url it does a 'im feeling lucky' thing on google. Type in "http" into google search, and the first answer is microsoft.com

    Thats what I think anyway.
