Keep heroin legal, says The Times

Well... said The Times back in 1955 to be precise ;)

Fascinating article:
"You never saw [heroin] in the clubs. Sure, some people were taking it but it was in private, at their house," says Reece, speaking from his home in New York.

"But I do remember people queuing up outside Boots chemist in Piccadilly Circus at midnight to get their heroin pills, on prescription. They called them 'jacks' - heroin pills."

Does anyone else get the feeling that any drug, be cocaine, opium, heroine etc, is apparently okay and legal so long as it's only the upper classes taking it, and that once the working classes get hold of them they promptly get banned? ;)
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

Governments just like to slap bans on stuff. Create a crisis, offer a false solution which perpetuates the problem to get votes from the nieve and gain a political grip abroad through the drugs trade. It's a fucking joke.

every scientific social report by every group of experts specialists etec etc ...
at the time ...advised the governmentds of the time ...keep heroin lega;l ...and coke ...and cannabis and opium.
every government ignored their own advisers who predicted ...making these things illegal would be the touch paper for disaster ...for criminal power wealth and control.
the last big one was the wooton report on cannabis ...67 or 68?
there were nno grounds at all for cannabis being illegal ...the government response on reading the results they had just paid for ...in the bin ...up the penalties.
