splinter cream

I've got a reeeeally sharp splinter in the palm of my hand, its not a splinter of wood, its a splinter of pencil led... its a long story lol. Anyways its wayyyy too deep to get out with tweezers or a pin, i've tried the whole soaking my hand in warm water thing but nothin works, and it seems the more i try to dig it out the further into my hand it goes!! Its reeally painful!! :(

Ive heard that you can buy a cream that you put on the splintered area over night and by morning it has drawn the splinter out enough for you to grab it with tweezers, does anybody know what this cream is called?! :confused:

Any help is really appreciated, my hand is hurting so much!!

    I don't know what it's called off the top of my head, and Google wasn't very helpful. Perhaps a visit to the Chemist would be a good plan, as they are more likely to know what products are available. I know that's not much help at 10:30pm, sorry!

    Vaseline works like that I think, smother it on and put a bandage over it.
