Film 2005

Title says it all really! What was your film of 2005? This year, IMO, has been a poor year at the box office and not that much has held my attention. Obvious favourites have been The Corpse Bride, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter. Earlier in the year I really liked A Very Long Engagement. It's been a good year for children's films what with all the Marvel films (my favourite of those being The Fantastic Four) and all the computer animated ones like Robots.

In 2006 I am looking forward to Memoirs of a Geisha, the new Superman film and The DaVinci Code. I am fairly curious about The DaVinci Code as I wasn't too thrilled by the book.

So yes, what's your film(s) of 2005?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or Narnia. I thought it was a pretty rubbishy year too, though. Nothing *that* great imo.

My favourite fil of 2005 was probably Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, although I really enjoyed In Her Shoes.

I'm looking forward to Memoirs of a Geisha I loved the book. Want to see The Da Vinci Code because part of its filmed at Lincoln Cathedral and I graduated there :D

Been too many sequels etc this year....but there were some good uns.

Star Wars Revenge of the Sith (...and what a sequel!)
Land Of The Dead (technically a sequel but i dare you to say George shouldnt have made it)
Saw 2 (not as good as the original but you cant top it....ace film tho)
Batman Begins (not a sequel as such but almost...better than anything thas come out of the franchise since Batman Returns tho)

    And in other news....

    Unleashed
    Creep
    Hitchhikers Guide
    The Amityville Horror
    Charlie and his factory

thats all i can think of

I liked quite a few films this year including The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Crash, Wallace and Gromit, The Corpse Bride, Cinderella Man, Don't Come Knocking, The Brothers Grimm. The worst film I had the misfortune of seeing was Elizabethtown (due to my friend's poor, misguided love of all things Orlando Bloom...though not so much post-film).

Most looking forward to Capote, Walk the Line and Brokeback Mountain in 2006.

    1) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
    2) Serenity
    3) Batman Begins
    4) Sin City
    5) Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
    6) Fantastic Four

Land of the dead was ok, but not great. Hitchikers Guide to the Glaxy i loved but wished they had gone further with it. Kingdom of Heaven i enjoyed a lot when i saw it too. Mr and Mrs Smith was not too bad either but hardly worthy of the above list.

I am looking forward to The Davinci Code, though i have not read the book yet. But most of all, i look forward to X3, the third oft he X-Men films that is going to rock!

No other 2005 films really spring to mind at all, poor year, although i have not seen the Chronicles of Narnia yet.

I don't think I have really liked any movies I've seen this year in all honesty. Although saying that, I haven't really seen that many. I'd like to see Corpse Bride/Narnia.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire by a long way this year.

A lot of the so called "big releases" were a big dissapointment for me.

I was really disappointed with Thumbsucker. Thought it was very boring.
