Paying for a scan

My uncle has recently had a blood test a few days ago and from that the doctors have told him he has prostate cancer.

He has private medical care who he can use if he needs an operation but they have said they can't take it any further until he has some kind of scan (but they don't do the scan), the soonest he can get a scan he has been told on the NHS is in 4 months time.

And if that confirms everything only then will the private medical people step in.

Anyone know of places you can go and pay for a scan to be done right away?

He could always ask his doctor if he coul arrange for him to go private for the scan, I really don't have any idea how much it will cost, it depends on the type of scan. On the plus side hopefully he won't have to wait too long for the scan.

the real problem inthe NHS isn't being treated it's bein diagnosed in the first place.

The NHS never starts any kind of treatement without you first needing to go see a specialist of some sort .. getting the appointment to see such a person is the bit that takes ages.
