IM SOOOO EXCITED!! :D I finally got around to buying this movie, I havent watched it yet, so right after work im planning on going straight home, have a few drinks and watch it.

What did everyone think of it? I hope its good because I bought it lol, I love tim burton movies though so either way at least i have it for my collection for his other movies.
Anywayz let me know, im trying to get myself all excited to see it :flirt:

    It's not as good as the original, bit of a pointless remake.
    Although I could watch the Oompa Loompas dance all day long! (yeah I know it's one guy)
    Johnny Depp creeped me out, not his best role I don't think.

    I prefer the new one. Everyone keep saying that it was a remake but it isnt, its based more on the actual book

    Original movie: Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
    New movie: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
    Book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

    So many people forget that the original movie was in fact Willie Wonka.

    Both movies had their goods and bads. Alot of the beginning of the first movie was quite boring. I could have done without the mother singing.

    The second movie was just flat out way too "cat in the hat" for me.

    First one was great. I was extremly dissapointed in the second.

    I much preferred the second one to the first one. There are just some things which are better off with special effects if they have to be made into a film.

    ok im back with my verdict........ I really liked it. That being said, i didnt LOVE it, but i liked it. I find movies now a days, like the hype and the previews make them look soo much better than how they are. I thought johnny depp did a pretty good job, he was funny, and odd. not to mention ugly lol with that bob of a hair cut! :sour: But what happened to that scene with the bubbles!!! Remember in the first one, the bubble room???!???? I was disapointed because as a kid I LOVED that scene, so yah, that sucked, but other than that, it was ok, im glad I bought it, thanks for your opinions tho guys :thumb:

    I don't think the bubble scene was in the book, but I'm not sure.
    I think the selling point with the new one was that they stuck to the book, ie squirrels not geese.

    I thought that this was a very good film and that Mr Depp was pretty impressive.
