    The question is, will the government conduct quiet behind-the-scenes negotiations to save Glitter from the death penalty? Should it?

    He's a British subject so yes, the Government should treat him as it would any other British subject charged with crimes abroad and that includes if he is found guilty working to ensure he doesn't face the death penalty.

    I agree. He's absolutely repugnant, but shouldn't be treated different.

    their prisons in the far east are evil anyway so it dont really matter if he gets let off the death penalty
