shopping in liverpool

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
sorry if this should be in fashion, or possibly travel, i really wasnt sure!
i want to go shopping in liverpool..ive never been there before!
Is there just 1 area for shopping, or are the shops really spread out?
Are there shops like new look, river island, topshop, primark, french connection, gap, republic, etc???
Are there plenty of car parks nearby the shops???
Please help, cos ive got no clue on where to go! Maps may be useful!
Am googling at the moment, but people opinions of places are often more realistic than a webiste review!
And sorry again if this is in the wrong place, just move it for me mods if it is!
Thank u

You'll find that every city centre and shopping centre has the same selection of shops. It's the landmarks and cultural activities that set a place aside from everywhere else.

    I find Liverpool confusing.

Everytime i drive there i get lost, but its easy to find the city centre and yes there are car parks near the shops.

    You may find trains easier?

Theres LOADS of shops, probably everything shop you could want, but as for finding them- ive no idea!!! Theres quite a few precincts, they tend to have their car parks so follow the singns for them.

Theres loads of average high street shops like new look, boots, topshop, river island, and theres also loads of shops like ted baker, wade smith, massive gap, fcuk etc etc you get the idea.

just been looking at saint johns shopping centres and clayton square. How far is it to walk between these 2? bcos st johns has its own car park, so it may be easier to park there shop+then walk to clayton square!

St Johns is about 20 yards from clayton square,
Just look for the big radio city tower whih can be sen for miles around.
When you come out into clayton square head down past the big screen and turn right your on high street there ith all those shops from river island to ann summers, St Johns is pretty big to and two other centres right outside it too!

There's no Primark or Banana Republic, but the usual high street shops are all close together. There are loads of other small boutiques spread around the back streets, bulletproof is a good vintage one. Parkings a pain, you might want to try the albert dock.

thanx dr luv+captain - where would you recommend for parking?? I read on the liverpool tourist website that either stjohns or clayton has parking built into it? Is the parking pay+display+is it cheap??

Theres a main high street with all the usual chain shops, couple of small shopping centres, and a few boutiques around too including Quigleys which has a few interesting shops within it if you're into the whole kind of grunge thing I guess. Generally everythings within walking distance, the docks is a little further, nice place but more just nice bars and a few specialist shops.
I wouldn't worry about parking or anything, just get into the city and follow signs to the nearest parking. I don't live there so have no clue where the cheapest ones are etc but realistically, theres not gonna be much difference so just go with the flow...you worry too much!

when you see the big screen in the shopping centre look for 'THE COP SHOP'.
it's the police station ...with a shop front and it has a big sign saying ...cop shop ...gud that innit.

Lime street station is in the centre. We always get off there when we're going out.
