I've got a couple of small but red spots come up , and I need to try and take the redness down within a few hours, any ideas how? Tee-Tree oil?

Tea tree oil is definitely worth a go.

When I was younger, I used to find that Clearasil pads (if they're still available) were pretty fast acting. I'd wake up with a spot in the morning, and it'd be hardly noticeable by lunchtime! Used to swear by those things!

OK cheers. I've got some Clearasil cream stuff actually that is sposed to clear up a spot in 2 days, which it doesn't. Will give the Tee-Tree oil ago.

You can buy the essential oil from loads of places.

Boots do their own. A known brand is the Thursday Plantation (or something to that effect, my Mum used to use it).

They're usually about £5 for a little bottle.

I do and it seems fine. I also have fairly sensitive skin as well.

I do occasionaly if I have a spot. In the long term using something that strong can't be good for your skin though.

they sell it at tesco too.

or they do an antiseptic tea tree oil cream as opposed to the liquid stuff.

    Superdrug: 5ml £2.69
    Boots (Botanics): 10ml £4.50

Edit: Might be worth trying this or this ?

Excuse the bias towards Boots. I work there so know their products better.

last night i had one of them big sore ones coming up, it even made 1 side of my chin swell!
i put this boots tee tree+witch hazel spot wand thing on it and this morning it was nearly gone!
would highly recommend it, it has 1 end that has clear stuff for daytime use, and the other end has creamy stuff for use at night.

Toothpaste. dries out the spot and calms it down.

I've tried toothpaste, never worked for me, maybe I only had it on for 30 mins? I brought this Witch Hazel face scrub stuff and only after a few days it totally cleared up any spots I did have :D. Great stuff, quite possibly the best stuff I have used, and I 've tried nearly all face wash products to get clear skin!

That Witch Hazel face scrub + L'Oreal Men Expert Skin Renovator + Adidas Skin Moisturiser tbh = win :D.

hehe, just what i was thinking. yes, your spot will appear to go, but only cause the rest of your face is now a beaming red, so it blends in!

i know you're not supposed to, but to get rid of spots quick, i usually squeeze them (with squeaky clean fingers), then dab neat TCP on. hurts like hell for about 30 seconds, but in the morning your spot is nearly gone.
