How come the murderers of the a woman during an armed robbery only get 13 years http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/4371059.stm but those who murder people in a drive by shooting get 35 years http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/4366177.stm

It seems a bit of lottery when you get sentenced.

Murder sentences are ridiculous, most of the time they are way too easy on the criminals. The criminal justice system sucks major ass.

Want to know the disgusting truth in it all. The fact the events happened in different counties, and were seen in front of two different judges.

The two incidents were different - in the armed robbery one can suspect that robbery was the prime motivation - in the other it appears that murder was the prime motivation.

Another factor that may lead to different sentences is the previous history and record of the defendants, and the ages of the defendants.

But ultimately the law is a lottery, and results are often affected by factors such as the ability of the lawyers, the personality of the judge, the behaviour of the defendants in court etc etc
