I think I might have miscarried and I didn't know I was pregnant. What are some symptoms and if I had X-rays done, could I have caused the miscarriage?

You would surely know if you had a miscarriage Isabelle... The tissues covering the uterus and a few billion baby cells are evacuated and it is a painful and bloody experience. My mother who is a doctor has been the victim of a miscarriage herself and has told me a lot about her experience.

    Hi Isabellejean

It is quite common to have a miscarriage very early on in a pregnancy. Some women will just think it is a heavy period, and not realise that they were pregnant. However, I do suggest that you seek medical attention if you are at all worried.

If you have had a miscarriage, it's human nature to blame yourself and look for something that you did wrong to cause it. You probably did nothing wrong at all.

We are working on some information about miscarriage at the moment, so keep an eye on the pregnancy section on TheSite.
