    not really when you think about it, I mean aren't jurors given prior instructions?

    It's not easy being a juror, you're basically sentencing someone to prison or not - a bit responsibility. Maybe the juror was wrong to get the material, but if you're trying someone for a crime surely you should know more about the crime etc etc.

    not really when you think about it, I mean aren't jurors given prior instructions?
    One would hope so if you're going to get in trouble for doing a bit of research on the topic of your trial.

    Of course, if it was used as the basis of an argument in a rape trial, and wasn't seen by the legal teams or judge, then that's clearly unacceptable. But to ban internet searches seems a bit extreme.

    S/he made a mistake, nothing more dramatic.

    youre supposed to jury with the information uve been given, and obviously past life experience, thus doing searches is equivilent of reading newspapers on it
