this is a bit embarrassing but so what!

I've been taking ovral since Aug, I took the packs consecutivly as I wanted to miss a period whilst I went on hols and then I got scared of having a period in case it was really heavy (me thinking it would equal 2 lots!) but it's now nearly Dec and I've not had 4 now basically through fear, I feel fine though, does anyone know what I should do? please please help!

i dont take ovral,i take microgynon 30... but im guessing they're basically similar.

i do this thing called tricycling (so do others, it was talked about near the end of the first page here) this is taking 3 packs in a row without a break, on a regular basis. i've taken 4 packs in a row before too, a few times.

you dont actually have to have a period at all on the pill, which is why a lot of female doctors take the pill continuously and dont have a break. it's just designed to help women feel "normal"... some would choose to have a period every month, even given the choice of having none at all. so, this means that if you miss your period this way, even for a few months, it doesnt get incredibly heavy like you imagine. it must be a scary thought... but it's not like that <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"> might be a tiny bit heavier, but not excessively so. the only problem i find with the tricycling is i start to get period cramps towards the end of each pack, because my body's gearing up for a period.

so dont worry about it, just have your 7 day break at the end of the pack you're currently taking and all will be fine <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">

You won't have a really heavy period. You will just get a withdrawal bleed as normal. BTW, it's a common misconception - but don't worry! There isn't a gallon of 'bad blood' building up inside you.

You'll be fine, take it easy.

i am on the depot injection, which is basically an injection in ure ass, n then u are sorted for three months, it also means u dont have a period which is another bonus, it is a bit embarassing dropping ure trousers in front of ure doctor but u only have to get one every three months n then not worry about it ne more.
i wud recommend this to ne 1 as it is so simple n easy n u dont have the hassle of remembering to take the pill every day.

soz 2 butt in! i'd like to be on that...the only problem is im shit scared of needles! so does it hurt & are there any side effects that u know of?
