My mates reckons he brought his domian from BT. I've looked on their site but cannot find anything about registering one.

    BT do not offer a domain registration service. Maybe one of BT's subsidiaries do. Type his domain name into a site like http://www.whois.sc/ to see the company he registered with.

    If it's a *.uk domain try http://www.nic.uk/ instead.
