Might as well start this as I'm undergoing the process at the moment...
I've been in NZ for over 3 years now and held a residency visa the entire time having moved here originally from the UK but the time has come for me to have to leave the country for short periods next year for DJ work (off to play in Sydney & Brisbane in 2005) and at present if I leave I have to pay $400+ to get back in.. so seeing as I'm now applicable, I thought I might as well apply for NZ residency and get the much treasured kiwi passport!
So how many of you have dual-citizenship? Have applyed for citizenship recently?
Just thought it would make an interesting topic!

Am entitled to my Australian one by birth, my UK one by parentage and a Swiss one because I've lived there 8 years. However, I couldn't get my Swiss one without renouncing at least one of the others, and more to the point, I'd have to a pass a citizenship test AND the local community has to vote on whether I deserve citizenship.
So all in all, far too much effort just for one more bloody passport that I don't need.
Can't do right now, finances don't permit. I'll have to stay in the meantime.
I can't even get a work visa because of my criminal record.
well thats your own fault
Seconded.
You criminal
Well that's pretty obvious isn't?
I'm just gutted that one night of drukeness when I was young landed me a conviction which I felt was undeserved. The Police and CPS properly stitched me up and the result is that I can't really ever go travelling.
