Should be locked up for life. No doubt another set of police officers abusing their posistion and 'the badge'.

If the allegations are true the bastards should get what they deserve.

    If the allegations are true?

Either way it was an abuse of authority and they should lose their jobs. Policemen shouldn't be shagging victims of crime, whether consensual or not.

Of course. Apologies for not making that clear originally.

You should make that clear. Rape allegations are not the same as rape. Men involved in rape trials are named whereas the female victim's identity is protected. It's a disgrace.

These two policemen may well be innocent of rape. She probably couldn't remember after 10 double vodkas anyway.

But even if they had consensual sex with her, there is no excuse for their behaviour. She was the victim of an assualt and they were there to protect her. They should be sacked.

Regardless of whether they raped her or not, they abused their position of trust. She reported an assault to the police. These two cops turned up, offered her a lift home and then had sex with her (which they say was consensual). Policemen shouldn't be soliciting sexual favours from members of the public whilst on duty. And no man should take advantage of a woman who has had too much to drink for their own sexual gratification.

Agreed. Though what you said about revealing the name of men accused of rape is interesting. Why should they have their name concealed when no other accused is afforded that right?

Quite. Only those found guilty should be named. In today's society, high profile cases that are reported in the media do not allow for innocent until proven guilty. It's a fact of life and so no one should be named until they are shown to be guilty.

I think it is only rape victims whose identities remain secret too though as opposed to victims of other crimes. The same privilege should apply to the accused.

Surely murder is as bad? They're not award anonimity there, think about Ian Huntley, what if he wasn't guilty, do you think he would have been able to leave it behind him?

Because of the nature of the allegation.

Men who are accused of rape will have that shadow hanging over them forever, whether or not they are found guilty.

So it is with many crimes.

Excuse me but ‘abuse of power’ is a tautology. Power IS abuse.

What a weird idea! The word ‘deserve’ means that a punishment corresponds to the crime. Did they keep her locked for life in a cage?

Do you propose that they be sexually violated for life instead?

No. I propose the law of Talion. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. It is the only possible kind of justice. So she has the right ( if their gilt is proven) to rape them ( with a broom’s handle for example)
Plus they must pay for the trial, for the investigation, to the judge, to the jury, to experts, to barristers, to the guard, for the court building’s maintenance, so on…
Don’t you find it strange that in the modern system the victim pays for this stuff ( through taxes)? Especially in this case where criminals are cops that is public servants that is they never paid a penny of taxes for their life?
