    counter-strike is crap online now.

    no-one plays it for fun, they play it to win, theres LOADS and i mean loads of people who literally play it 24/7 just so they can be good enough to win every game they play, and i cant astand this because it completely ruins the game for people who just want a fun game and a game they dont have to take seriously

    I'd recommend the free download of Wolfenstien : Enemy Territory, makes for a great online squad game.

    avp2 is an all time classic (not that it's that old, but you know..)

    Operation Flashpoint online is amazingly good

    counter strike is crap, but DoD is great if you want a half life mod. I prefer battlefield vietnam/1942 though

    got a new game recently, savage: battle for newerth and it's fantastic - some of the best team play and coordination I've seen in a long time! Just don't go on the demo servers :p because they're full with newbs who just try to get their kills and XP up.

    Ultima Online, though I only played it for a month, was great. Now though, runescape is ok but I can't be arsed playing it.

    if you're looking for a fun half-life mod (Steam) to play online try sven-coop, its a co-operative game in which everyone playing is on the same team. You have to complete levels against a load of computerised aliens and stuff, its a great laugh

    Tribes Vengance is going as a free download this week on www.fileplanet.com - At the moment it's you can only download it if your a paying subs.

    2. Grand Theft Auto Vice City (via MTA)
    3. Return to Castle Wolfenstyne - Enemy Territory
    4. HL engine based games (CS/TFC/etc)
    5. Threewave/ra3 (Quake3)

    I also really liked Battlefield 1942 online, it was awesome, I don't think many people play it anymore though :-(

    1 - Cs or halflife mods - on a nexus server, alot more fun and better, no one just plays to win but plays for fun:)

    2 - AvP 2, quality game,

    3 - Any tom clancy game, either Ghost Reacon or Rainbow 6

    4 - CnC - any of them, good strat series apart from renagade.. damn they made a mistake there, Fps :no:

    5 - Operation flash point - resistence
