If the people demanded these things, should a government do it?

    Democracy is shit and nobody can cook a candy of it whichever newest technologies they use. It doesn’t matter in which way democracy is sold. The taste is always the same.

    If you define democracy as ‘government of people, for people, by people’ of course it doesn’t exist. Not because some bad boys have stolen good democracy and replaced it with bad democracy but because this definition is self-contradictory. Things that can’t exist logically can’t exist physically.
    But if democracy is just a specific kind of state’s structure where the governing are elected by the governed on regular basis it exists, flourishes and smells.

    Democracy doesn't exist. Democracy can't exist.

    Liberal democracy is a sop to the people, little more. It has a value of nothing. The people "decide", then are ignored for five years whilst the selected elite (red or blue) plunder the country.

    The Commies and Socialists rape the country just as much as the hard-nosed neo-liberals.

    And your idea would be even more distinct if you mentioned right-wing fundamentalists and hard-nosed neo-cons.
