I was just outside having a cigarette and looking at the stars and a question popped into my head. Why do stars blink? Is it a trick of the eye or do they actually keeping getting a little lighter and darker?

    Yes, it's the atmosphere. The more air light has to go through, the more it's distorted. And the air moves constantly, so that's what creates the flicker... I think.

    Right last post of the night then....I saw a shootin star on hol last yr on a beach-only me admy bro sawit which made it really special-like a bond. My dad missed it-probably lookin at the local women walkin past him!

    Guernsey (where we were) is amzingly clear for stars-here i can only see a few bright ones but there it was like someone had sprinkled glitter all across the milkyway. Very very awe-inspiring. y bro used it in lyrics he wrote there. I jsut thought they were pretty and made me feel so small and insignificant compared to the whole milkyway and beyond!
