fancy dress...another topic

I know there are various posts on this but nothin specific.
The theme is nautical, i can only think of pirate and sailor - sailor requires a sailor outfite.
can anyone think of anything else or jus how to theme something into what i wear (and places to buy them from) rather than buy a frigging costume from a francy dress shop!

    could you find a navy and white stripey jumper or something?

    or just go in trousers rolled up and a t-shirt with a fishing net and pretend you're going fishing.

    ...wonder how long till this gets moved to fashion :p

    I know someone that went to a fancy dress thing as Nemo from 'finding nemo' and it was the best costume ever. Personally a good captain hook outfit never fails me (a long red coat and a hook from a coat hanger!).
