    Lighters are good, but matches are better for some uses, like lighting ovens. Less chance of burnt fingers with a long match. On the other hand, lighters burn with a cleaner flame, so are better if you don't want any sooty leftovers. Both have their pros and cons.

    i had one of those cheap lighters one time and tweaked it a bit. then when my friend went to use it it singed off part of her bangs... yes, it was hilarous.
