There's been talk about the simpsons hitting the big screen for ages now, when is it actually going to come out?

Anyone know anything about it?

    You know its on its way out when they release the movie.

    Its past its sell by date by at least 2 seasons.

    I've never thought the simpsons were all that funny. They just don't do it for me. They don't go far enough, and always pull punches.
    But there is some good observationist humour in them.
    The only thing that bugs me about the Simpsons is that there are thousands of them (so it seems), yet I seem to repeatedly only see the same 40-50 episodes, which is boring. :(
