(yeh money again i know...)
just wandering how much you'd spend on a valentines day meal...
i booked a table this morning at a lovely little restuarant we go to, only to find out its £37.50 per person for a set menu, the vegetarian on which not even being vegetarian - so im having to cancel it anyway, but i thought that was a tad steap, you dont even get a bottle of wine with it or anything, although it was a nice five course meal... but even still, after drinks aswell, and travel into town and back (cab), we're looking at £100 just for a meal on some over-commercialised day, I think id rather sit in and eat something home cooked with love
there's plenty more restaurants aorund our area selling the same standard of food for much less than that. anyway, whats the average you'd push the boat out for your loved one's dinner? bearing in mind you'd probably get them a gift on top of the meal aswell...

plus the places try and milk your money.
home-cooked meals own
i agree with this bit, but then i think id rather sit in a restaurant and ignore a load of strangers on valentines day than i would sit in my own home and have to make polite chit chat with the family whilst trying to enjoy a romantic evening in.
next year, after we've moved in our house though - home cooked all through :thumb:
my sisters restaurant is twise maybe three times more expensive than that.
But it is a Very very post place, i only ate there twise but its a lovely restaurant
still the most expensive thing i've seen on the menu was £89 for just the main:) although there large portions and they cater to anyones needs.
The equality card on Valentines day :thumb:
Indeed.
Seriosuly though, I'm fed up of these filthy little bints who go out on a first date with no money in their purse, no intention of even offering to pay, and the guy is made to feel like shit if he doesn't pay for everything?
Next time I'm with someone regularly, I'll make up a chart of who pays what and when, so a valid record is kept of payment on nights out etc.
I'll stick it on the oven door, so she can't miss it :thumb:
Aye. I've got a thing about restaurants. Don't like them at all. Way too many people.
i really don't feel comfortable eating with a zillion other people i get all paranoid and think everyone is looking at me :nervous:
euck, that stuff will kill ya. tis evil i tell ya!
I would rather go on a picinic (when i say picinic i just mean get some food, preferably healthy food and just go to the beach/foreshore and have a nice private dinner. yeah that'd be better than a resturant
lol good ole bondi. I was thinking somewhere a lil bit more private, like birdie or frasier beach. Ooh or hargraves, i have it on good authority that you can shag your heart out at gravs and no one will see/hear/arrest you:p
lol, yeah well you can actually do it with just you and a *friend*, but it's hell expensive and the other 'guide' person is still there. Oh yeah and you can do the sunset harbour walk in summer and late spring i think. And yes, those suits are very attractive aren't they. Most flattering.
true true. So where's the most romantic place you have ever treated a girl to on v day. (kinda feel guilty about taking over the thread and yeah this has something to do with what it's sposed to)
quite impressive, although not for me! One of my mates when and saw phantom of the opera years ago, she was so confused for days afterwards. Silly girl. Oh sleep, yeah i'm sure after all that, i'm sure she wasn't the only one getting a present.
Go the pub! also, what's an Ivy?
well thankfully i don't screech, but yeah i'm up for it. heh heh ooh jamie do u like my new av better or my old one.
gold-plated lobster?
with extreme difficulty.
well yes that now seems quite obvious. hmm...
and jamie, i agree i think it's better. I've been looking for a new one for a while. OOh and i bought no doubts boom box last month, very cool
