Why can't they just leave you alone and let you get on with your own life?!?

I am sick to death of my parents always trying to rule my life! I wish they would just leave me alone and let me do what I want to do instead of what they want me to do. No matter how many times I have tried talking to them they don't listen!

Anyone got any suggestions on what I could do to try and get the message across to them?

    I'm really lucky cos my parents have never been like that, but I do know what you mean as I've had friends who's folks have been the same. Maybe just sit them down and tell them what you want to do with your life, and tell them that if they want you to be happy then they should just let you get on with it. Guilt trip them a bit heh
