well I know all the virginity threads have been done to death, but I was just reading thru them and wondered........if/when u bleed when u lose ur virginity, how much blood is there?
Its just that the guy I'm seeing is terrified of blood.....so it could b a problem :rolleyes:

if it helps i had sex with a G/F just after her period and there was some residual bleeding (quite a bit actually) just jump in the shower and it soon washes off

apart that is unless you are not turned on enough or he has a big penis or you have a small vagina. all will cause some small bleeding

The hymen is a very small membrane (thin piece of tissue) that is stretched over the opening of the vagina. it usually perforates spontaneously before puberty even but sometimes if the initial opening is only small it may fully tear on forst sexual intercourse, first tampon etc.
What you also have to remember is the anatomy of the female reproductive organ. Roughly the uterus is the furthest inside the body. this then leads down to the vagina and at the vaginal opening is the hymen. It is not only intercourse that can tear the hymen as anything entering the vagina can. Fingers, toys etc are just as likely.
And remember a "period" is when the body sheds the uterus lining which remembering the anatomy is when the uterus lining is discharged out of the body through the vagina and therefore the vagina opening.
Yes some women in 30's still have a hymen but that can be due to the hymen being held on stronger and also that as everyone is different so are their body layous and some hymens may not be connected properly or even only partially conected or partially covering the vagina openeing. But an intact hymen after puberty is very rare.

yeah okay hun i agree with that bit, that can sometimes cause it 2 break, also tampons. But as for the techicalites of the whole thing (like why some of us bleed in the first place) i haven't a clue so i can't comment. Doubt its got much 2 do with sizes though, that would just stretch you i think - like a baby does when coming out! Tell us how it goes anyway hunni xxx
