    Did anyone else think it was REM until they saw it on the telly? Damn Michael Stipe wannabe. Not only that, another non-christmas related song, and so miserable, what a load of dirge. The Darkness' track will rise to Slade status though, so in the long run they will come out of it best. Tis indeed a mad world :rolleyes:

    Yeah - I work in a music library and loads of people came in asking for 'that song by michael stipe'...its a good song though, I find it quite a hopeful song. The Bside of the 12 " has a faster version on it, more like the tears for fears version.

    What was the top ten?

    Y'know, it's absolutely hilarious the amount of people who slag off pop musicians who do cover versions, but when this shite came out, the same morons were jumping up and down about it.

    In effect, the only thing wrong with cover versions are when they aren't to your tastes. Or the usual musical snobbery :mad:

    Doesn't bother me, because a) Will's single has been out for weeks now, b) Will's single is off a very highly selling album, and c) The retards who bought the Bo Selecta single are now safely back in secure units.

    you know, i'm annoyed by cliff as much as the next person, but considering he's had a musical career spanning almost 50 years, and has been knighted, i'd say that puts him a few steps ahead of any of the shite in the charts at the moment.
