Smoking its effects and life

I want this in here cause i think its a valid point to make and more people will reply to it and read it.....

this is an extract of what i said a little while ago in an msn chat with a good friend.. we were talking about passive smoking, drugs, life and stuff..

" she (my mum smoked whilst pregnant with me, smoked whilst i was growing up, still smokes, wont stop ever, cant stop.. so i too have accepted that cancer will be my downfall, id imagine it cud be inside me right now, and it might only take one thing to trigger it...which takes me nicely to my next topic .. does this not then mean that everyone who has passive smoked...at such a high risk not go out and live for the moment "

So what do you lot think then surely i have a valid point in what i have said at the bottom part their ?? Ive been exposed to passive smoking for 21 years and for the foreseeable future i will be too... so my risk of getting cancer is so much higher, so surely with that in mind its an excuse to go out and enjoy our short lives even more whilst we can??

I wouldnt just accpet that, its too defeatist. An ex smokers lungs return to like those of a non smoker within either 5 or 10 years of stopping smoking, so theres every chance you wont get cancer.
