Can you buy crap online with a debit card or do you need a credit card?

    im pretty sure sites like E-bay take debt cards but i am unsure

    Yes, you can use debit cards to shop on ebay. Provided they accept the type of debit card you have, obviously.

    but how about on other websites, not necissarly ebay, just like sites you can buy stuff off of, do you think they accept it? I looked on one and they just ask for your credit card number and billing address, and quite frankly I have no idea how any of that stuff works

    Most sites accept debit cards. At least they do over here. There are only a couple of exceptions.
    I'm surprised there isn't a drop down menu to select the card type/brand.

    Yep, you put in card number, expiry date, and often the verification number (last three digits of the number printed on the signature strip on the back of your card). Oh, and you may need to enter your name as it appears on your card too. That should be it.

    Yeah, so long as it is Visa & not switch. Either way it will have a symbol on it telling you what it is.
