first stop - go to your gp.

they will assess whether you need referring to a specialist.

if not, they will put you in contact with a counsellor, often within the same surgery.

Oh, ok, now I now im fucked in the head I just read "the rapist"!

Dude, you need to go to your gp, if you are at uni go to your health center. I haven't been able to get one yet, but, I think that's how you do it.

    Take care mate, be safe.

right..if you still in education you can normally see one for free at your school/college/uni

im useing the school to see one.

if not go to your gp and like kaffrin said they'll asses you and see if you need one..

If you want a top class councillor/therapist (sp) you will have to go private but you should only bother with them if it its REALLY SERIOUS so i hope it isnt

and mate..you wanna talk anytime pm me..ill get back to ya asap..

Sometime speaking to mate/people you know is better than a therapist and sometimes its the other way around.. take care mate.. and good luck:)

going private and paying for a councillor does not make them "top class" quite frankly. you will find that many private councillors will also work for the nhs. it may mean you get seen quicker but doesnt mean that the councillor will be any better im afraid.

When I paied to go private she was very, very good. I tried the NHS one but he was poor and you only get 6 sessions on the NHS.

you can still pay to go private and get someone who you think is crap and you can get someone on the nhs that you think is brilliant. its like anything you get good and bad wether you pay or not!

Just backing up what the others have said. Go to your GP and tell them what's up, they'll refer you to a counsellor if they recognise that you need one. Sometimes if you're lucky you can get a nice GP who'll talk things through with you first and try to help.

If that doesn't help then see about going private but I would definitely go through your GP and the NHS first.

In my experience of councillor's have been bad.
My fisrt one called me arrogent cos i couldnt understand why i was being bullied.
My seconded one just sat ther going "uhum uhhu yeeeeeeees"
My third was adament that i had 2 personalitys and that i swiched off and turned into this whole different person:eek2:
My fourth was male and insisted on sitting to make his bluge in his trousers as big as poss. he didnt have a boner he just sat with his leg WIDE open and that made me uncomfortable.

So im not going back to any of them.
But some of my mates hav had very good ones. im just unlucky i guess.
