We’re currently compiling a list of the issues raised so far for pre-mod/age verification (both from the chat earlier and from here on the boards). It seems like a couple of people are struggling or having issues with the age verification but are still allowed to post, so please do continue to post whilst we are working on remedying the incorrect ages which are being reported. We will do all we can to ensure that even if the age Yoti has given you is incorrect, that we can still allow you to use our services for as long as you are within the remit. We really apologise for the errors which have cropped up so far, and we know how frustrating this is especially considering the delays. As it stands, pre-mod is only partially working but the tech team is working to rectify this. We do not currently have a time frame in mind but it is at the top of their priority list to make the implementation of age verification and pre-mod the way they were hoping. But it seems likely this will not be rectified by the end of the night, and we are unsure whether the overnight switch off will work tonight.

We will also be announcing the change management session this week in light of these changes going through, from 6.30pm-7.45pm on Monday 20th when our usual connectors session is. This will be open to all current members of the Community not just Connectors, and you can sign up using a form which will be in the later post

I haven’t even attempted to do the age check. It lets me post from my phone and in a roundabout way I made it to boards from there

I managed to get it working after a load of issues regarding accessibility, and it's gotten my age wrong, I was expecting that because I do look younger than I am, like for real? Some people have genetic factors that make them look younger, or conditions that make them look younger. I am not going into my medical history. I can't change how old I look, verification that way just isn't as accurate as it should be as it can't take into account that there are people that look a different age.
Also people naturally look older than their age too.
It’s telling me i have to do it again now on the website but when I tried it didn’t work and is just asking me to do it again. At least the age estimation of 28 has disappeared from my profile.

Just to update. We are aware of the issues which the updates have caused and have been working with the IT team. We can confirm that Pre-mod will be in place for all users and comments 3.30pm today (Tuesday) and the boards will switch off overnight from this evening.

Fully agree. And i have sent a dm with my specific issue but now it's not letting me age verify on here at all it lets me scan but doesnt verify it.
Funny and typical how the box of the age prediction yoti gave is gone
So, this is just a small few things, there's a lot more stuff, but my main issues are:
1) the questions raised for over about 4 months now by multiple users about accessibility have still to be answered, with disabled users in some cases being unable to use the system in place
2) No actual answer to the fact that Yoti got done for misusing data on there digital ID app (the alternative verification system the Mix is mandating) and what assurances were given as to why it's not gonna be an issue
3) The facial age estimator has been giving wrong ages, by over 5 years in some cases. I don't think i've seen a single person get the actual age they are.

What do I do if it said that I am too young/old?
Yoti will prompt you to scan a QR code/click a link to go through to set up a digital ID
It let me through but my age is wrong, can you change this for me?
No, if you follow the above step then Yoti will send us your digital ID via a secure method to verify the correct age on our system. From now, you should not be able to see the age that it provided you specifically, just that it has estimated you to be outside of the age range 13-25
What happens if it got my age wrong but I don’t have ID or I cannot submit ID easily?

If I send The Mix my ID directly to verify/prove my age, what will happen to the picture?
Please do not send us ID as we are not legally allowed to hold this and can not process your ID.

We do not think there will be a significant change as there will mostly be at least one person keeping an eye on the boards if someone is in a chat

If my age was wrong will I be aged out at the wrong time?
No, Yoti only acts as a mechanism to allow you to use the service once. It is similar to admission to an event where once you are in, it is not checked again, and aging out will be done manually by staff as is the case currently

I dont suppose staff work after 10 to answer emails anyhow, but you would have thought people could PM back after 10 for the reasons mentioned. The situation could well have changed with someone by 9am the next morning. I still don't see the logic behind it at all but here we are

Heya me again - ive got no life and can still seemingly post (not that im complaining but so i dont get introuble i have pmed the mix about this) so thought id bring up a few things again thats either not had an answer or perhaps not been seen as well as additional late night questions that have sprung to mind:

What would happen in the event you need to check in with someone's safety after a chat considering the boards are planned to be completely shut off at 10pm? As that only allows 30 minutes to do so in that case and not everyone can respond that quickly. This would be the same for if you reply saying itd be done over email as not everyone checks their emails.

How does premoderation affect editing posts after theyve been approved? Has this feature been removed? Is this allowed but has to be re moderated? Is this allowed without moderation?

Considering this is the second night that the boards shutdown has not worked but provingly last night went fine where member were able to post and them get approved in the morning, will this/has the total shutdown idea been reconsidered?
