For the YV one im pretty sure i did it multiple times so i imagine doing it more than once wont matter as long as its been done

Just so you know, my original email sent 4 days was fine, and went to my gmail "Promotions" tab, but one sent 2 days ago not only went to spam, but google marked it as "dangerous"

Im fully aware that its not, and im pretty sure if ive already opt'd in, but i just wanted to make you aware.

Possibly because there's an image attached called "Outlook-lekkwawe.png" but not 100% sure

@Rhys i think the image is just the mix logo, usually least for me there attached in every email from them

Good to know @Rhys! I'm not security-savvy enough to know why that is to be honest. I know if people haven't interacted with us over email before their email inboxes are more likely to treat us as suspicious. It might be because we had links in the email maybe?

Will your confidentiality policy be changing to match shouts?

I read this on the privacy policy page

We will always think carefully about whether we need to break confidentiality. This is especially important if a Service User is a young person, aged under 18. We may need to break confidentiality and engage with a third party in the following circumstances:

We believe that a Service User’s life is in imminent danger;
We believe that a Service User or someone else is at risk of significant harm;
A Service User is a young person, aged 17 or under, who is being hurt, abused or neglected;
A Service User is identified as an adult at risk, because of vulnerabilities that are disclosed, who is being hurt, abused or neglected;
A Service User tells us, or we suspect that a Service User has committed or is about to commit a serious crime; and/or
A Service User tells us that they are endangering the safety of another person.

Yes - there are some changes to our confidentiality policy coming down the line. And you're right that it's to bring The Mix and Shout together under one system.

This hasn't taken effect yet though, and we'll communicate this in our usual way (with a lovely big thread) once we get to that stage so you all know what our new thresholds are.

Yeah the policy looks exactly the same as shouts now, but they don’t break confidentiality lightly at all either

Ahh yeah, the first email i had went to one of my inbox tabs, but this one went to spam, and had a red banner, which alot of my spam doesnt, telling me its probably dangerous, ofc a false positive, just wanted to let yous know, also one from 23 hrs ago is marked the same, it could be that google has decided the community@themix.org.uk email is not trusted, im unsure.

Im pretty sure im opt'd in, possibely twice, but confirmation would good too

Interesting! Thanks for saying @Rhys - we basically never send out mass emails like this so that might also be why we've been flagged by inboxes. As you say it's a false positive and probably not something we can do anything about, but hopefully we reach enough people.

I you’ve already opted in do you stop getting the emails? Bc I haven’t had anymore when people are saying they’re getting them. Would make sense for them not to send to people who’ve already done it, and a good way of knowing you’ve done it.

As @AnonymousToe alluded to, everyone will get all email reminders (sorry, there's no way to remove people without going through and manually editing our mailing list!)

If you're not seeing the new email reminders, it's probably because they're going into your junk folder. A few people have told us they've been marked as spam/dangerous.

If you've opted in and you're still seeing them, apologies that we keep shouting at you 😅
