Hey everyone,
It's almost to 2018! With a New Year it can be thought of as a new start and a chance to change something or do something different. I thought this could be a thread where we share how our years have been and what you might like to change or be different next year in 2018?
All the best,
- Aife
Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤

My resolution is to release the volcano of anger I'm sitting on. I've been repressing anger for several years, and it's affecting my life a lot more than I realised! So, I'm going to work and try and remove that burden in 2018 What about you?
Much love
Hope everyone has a good new year!
Me, too. There is no way I'm going to allow people to drag me down! Mandy has gone to France, so she is one less.
I've already started my new year's resolutions by deleting my Facebook and Twitter accounts. On my Facebook was a guy who kept saying "Hi", but nothing more, so I deleted him, but he got very annoyed. Also I had a stranger keep asking me for my picture, so I blocked him. You can never be too careful! So with those two social media accounts gone - less to worry about.
I intend being strong. After mummy's funeral it's going to be hard, but already I feel empty. But my loss is not going to feel bad forever. Is it?
Another new years resolution is to get my headaches and migraines sorted. Last night I had a bad headache, so if any of you my friends see me writing in lower case, that will probably be why.
On the up side, I'll be doing more cooking. Just love it!
Editing to add, I'll be starting back learning meteorology. That is going to be good, aunty said.
This is my list
1. Record my own song
2. Continue self caring
3. volunteer with a youth service
4. Get a distinction on level 2 music
5. Look after myself - watch a movie every week
6. Go a 3/4 weeks without counsellor
7. Meet my brother on my own
8. Go to Bolton to see friends and family
9. Learn 12 songs.
10. Be nicer to counsellor
11. Go out with college friends
12. Can not be said
13. Can not be said
14. Can not be said
15. Pass my English at 4/5
16. To be able to walk Annie on my own
17. To be more confident in social events
18. To be less cheeky to my tutors.
3 can not be said because of guideline reasons
Have a lovely new year Hope it' a bright and positive one for you all?
My plan for 2018 is to, much like others, not let other's opinions effect me. To be confident with myself both as a person and with how I look. I want this year to be positive and I want to learn as much as I can, make friends, and continue helping out my friends when they need it. I also plan to fully commit to therapy when that starts at the end of January and try and be open minded about it, in the hope that I won't let my anxiety effect my confidence or daily life as much as it may have in the past few months. This also links to my goal of being much more open by the end of 2018, not at all ashamed by my mental health and confident enough to talk openly about it. It's not my problem if anyone else finds it uncomfortable, it's nothing to be ashamed about!
I also really want to get back into competitive athletics as I decided that after not missing a single season of competition for three years, I'd take this indoor season off. So hopefully by the time the outdoor season comes round I'll be confident enough to get back out there, and in the meantime my goal is to work as hard as I can in training and in school until I'm back competing.
Happy New Year everyone!!!
Rachel xx
That would be so magical!
Thank you @Meggles ! It'll be hard work, but I've got time on my side haha!
I love your resolution! There seems like there's a lot of ideas there, so I think it'd be a good idea to think about how exactly you're going to achieve these, and what "achieving" one constitutes. For instance, you could try and find a new hobby by looking at your local area, picking a couple you like, and attending. Achieving this could be when you find a hobby and stick to it for 3 months, as an example. Doing this makes it easier to keep track of how you're doing! I wish you the best on this resolution, and a Happy New Year!!
