Making New Friends

I have not long moved to a new place and I don't really know anyone and wanted to know how I could make new friends.

Knock on the door to your left. Knock on the door to your right. Bring a quiche round like Harold Bishop. There you are, two new friends already. I assume that since you moved to a new area, you've got a new job. Ask some of them out. And then join a club for whatever sort of thing you like doing. It's a start.

That would go down a treat with me!

It's difficult, and even more difficult to respond with anything other than the cliches about interest groups, hobbies etc. But short of accosting random people on the street, it's the best foothold you'll get on the way to building a social group. Hmm... gym, pub, wee bit of charity work, colleagues. It's hard to think of much else without knowing what you like doing with your time.

I don't really do much in my spare time. I am gong to join a gym and I have started a job and have made a few friends there.

yeah join a gym and you will make loads of freinds and when you see them out side of the gym you will think wow this is like the masons but easier to get into there might even be perks!

It's always hard when you relocate but things will get better after a few months I'm sure. Look out for a new feature going up on TheSite on relocating, I will keep you all posted on this board when it goes live.
